Do you have a perception of yourself as a left- or right-brained person? You may be surprised at the results of this Hemispheric Dominance Test. Take it and find out. Please post a comment about your result. What were your numbers for right and left brain responses? Were you surprised about the result?

This quiz seems like a good, fast way to evaluate our hemispheric dominance. I scored similarly on this 'quiz' to others that I have taken: 13 right brain responses and 6 left brain responses. Overall I was labeled as 'Right Brain.'
ReplyDeleteI selected twice as many right brained responses as left brained ones. while I feel my right brain dominates, I am surprised that the dominance was as strong as this quiz indicated. The quiz was fun. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe test indicated that I was right brained (14-5). I found it interesting. Talking to my neighbor, she immediately was applying what she learned to her sudents. I need to do that too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a right-brainer. I also liked how the test went into specific details about each part of being right brained.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know which i was before the test, but after reading my results it made sense that I am a right-brained person. I did however think I would lean towards a left-brained person, though my results were close...11 to 8.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure which side I would fall on, but I thought I would lean toward being left-brained. After my results I found I leaned toward being right-brained. After reading the characteristics I saw that some of these things actually did fit me well. Very interesting test!
ReplyDeleteI scored 15 for left brain and 4 for right brain. I'm not shocked by this, I am VERY left brain.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to see that I am left brained. I expected myself to be right brained. It is neat to be able to take a 19 question quiz to find which side of your brain you use.
ReplyDeleteResults: Left-11 Right-8
This test is amazingly accurate in showing that I am a left-brained person. When looking at the traits involved with being a "left-brainer", I wholeheartedly agree. I scored left 14 and right 5.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that my score was split in the middle so I'm neither right nor left brained. Is that why I'm so confused all the time?!!
ReplyDeleteI scored 15 for left brain and 4 for right brain. I'm not shocked by this, I am VERY left brain.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised about how right-brained I am according to the quiz. I thought I was more centered, but after reading the descriptions, I can see it.
ReplyDeleteDoes using your hands when you speak indicate that you use the left or right side of your brain?
ReplyDeleteI was surprised that I had 14 questions right brain and only 5 left. I thought I would be closer to 1/2 left and 1/2 right as I am very into technology and analytical (very into details!) yet have a minor in art. I am looking forward to this "virtual" book study.
ReplyDeleteLoved the test. I'm a left-brainer (as I have been since I took my first r/l brain test 25 years ago). One thing I have noticed, however, is with every new test I have become "less" left brained and a little more drawn toward the "right".
ReplyDeleteI found out that I was very right brained. I found that I have become less right brained than I was when I took a similar test a few years ago. Great Test!
ReplyDeleteI was not surprised to see that I am "left-brained" I answered a total of 11 questions as a left brain and 8 right brain. It's very interesting to see the results!
ReplyDeleteAs with any survey I take like this, I always have difficulty answering the questions because I think of all of the "what if's" - What if my desk is really in organized cluttered piles? What if I can't remember names or faces? What if sometimes I just...? So does that make me more left brained as the survey brought on stress?
ReplyDeleteI love the test and I can't wait to give it to my friends and family. I always thought I was more left brained, but I am right down the middle.
ReplyDeleteBeing a new right brain person (I thought I was left), I will be looking at the world with a new insight. Although I appear to be right, I really would like to have the organization of left.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed that all four of us (all women) at this table had exactly the same score...11 right/8 left. How strange is that??
ReplyDeleteI knew I was right-brained before taking this test and this test confirmed it (14-5.) After reading the further information about each piece, it was interesting to think about how my students would fit into these categories.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to me that the older I get, the more I start to move toward the center (In the past I have been quite right brained). I still have a tendency to be a very global thinker and I do utilize my "gut," but not without first consulting that voice of reason.
ReplyDeleteI was 11-8, right brained. I thought I would be somewhere in the middle, so I'm not very surprised. Don't let the 8 fool you though, I'm left brained enough to bother my friends!
ReplyDeleteI am really not surprised that my results determined me to be right brained. However, I was not anticipating the significant divide between the two, as I was 15-4. I liked being able to read further into what all of it meant, though!
ReplyDeleteRachel & Colin,
ReplyDeleteFunny and not-surprising, either! Colin, doesn't this making selecting a major and future career so much more interesting? Rachel, wow, what an interesting gap...you must be compensating pretty well on the left (and if you have any tips, I could use them!)
Dear Katelynn,
ReplyDeleteYes, so not surprising? But there is a smidge of right in you!
I scored 15 right, 4 left - a complete affirmation of what I had thought. Exploring the links about the impact of my dominant brain revealed some interesting possibilities for learning. Educators - check these out; there are some simple things we can do to differentiate instruction for right or left brained learners!
ReplyDeleteI really hate using a computer to do this. Not sure what part of my brain that indicates but it just seems like so much work! I just want to talk about stuff instead. Maybe I'm just too old!
